Home > What is Inclusion

Inclusion is simply the process of acknowledging people with disabilities as people first.

It is about acceptance into everyday life by families, friends, neighbors, teachers, employers, and all others.

Inclusion assumes that every person is entitled to respect, dignity, equal rights under the law, and opportunities for a fulfilling life within the community.

Inclusion involves careful assessment of the needs of each individual and application of measures that will meet those needs. Properly implemented through cooperative teamwork and effective support systems. Inclusive practices benefit us all.
